“Arizona Golden Eye Blue Bird”
My art captures the essence of transformation, echoing the cycle of life itself. Through the medium of a humble bowl, I breathe new life into it, birthing a majestic bird in flight. Each fragment meticulously cut apart and reassembled symbolizes the fragments of existence, pieced together to create harmony and beauty. Carved with delicate precision, the bird emerges, embodying grace and freedom. Dry brush painting adds depth and texture, infusing the piece with vitality. Pyrography sculpts intricate details, capturing the intricacies of feathers and motion.
Mounted to an ancient barn beam, the bird finds its perch, juxtaposed against the rugged resilience of the cholla cactus. This juxtaposition speaks to the interplay between nature and human intervention, as well as the enduring spirit of adaptation. My work invites viewers to contemplate the interconnectedness of all life and the boundless possibilities of renewal and reinvention.
